We are excited to announce the launch of the soccer program at Nepean Christian, a pioneering co-curricular initiative in collaboration with the Institute of Ballers. Led by Giovanni Panuccio and Chan Yelchan, this program is designed to provide football development while maintaining the school’s strong commitment to academic excellence.

Catering to students from Kindergarten to Year 12, the academy aims to refine technical and tactical skills, enhance game intelligence, and instill values of discipline, teamwork, and resilience. Our structured training environment ensures that players are equipped to succeed both on and off the field, preparing them for the challenges of competitive football and future personal growth. In addition to high-quality training, selected players will have the opportunity to represent the school in competitive tournaments under our expert guidance.

Meet the Coaches

Head Coach: Giovanni Panuccio

A former professional footballer whose career was curtailed by injury, Giovanni Panuccio is passionate about blending football development with education. Having recently completed a Bachelor of Health Science, he understands firsthand the importance of academic foundations alongside athletic aspirations.

Giovanni has played for the Australian Joeys, Macarthur Bulls FC, and had a stint with Atalanta U16s in Italy’s first division. His coaching journey has been equally impressive; he currently leads the Macarthur Bulls A-League Academy U16s and has guided the Institute of Ballers to 10 championship titles in the past year, with several of his players from Nepean christian being part of these tournaments. Many players from the academy earned placements in A-League academies.

Technical Director: Chan Yelchan

With a distinguished playing career spanning Spain (Málaga CF), the UAE, and Australia (NPL1 – St George), Chan Yelchan brings a wealth of international experience to the academy. His exposure to diverse playing styles and tactical approaches provides invaluable insights for developing young athletes.

As Technical Director, Chan is responsible for shaping the academy’s curriculum, ensuring players receive top-tier technical and tactical training. His mission is to enhance football intelligence, refine skills, and prepare athletes for the highest levels of competition.
